alissa's 18th birthday

How in the world did my 5lb 5oz, 18.5", baby girl turn 18?  And how is it that her birthday gift could possibly  be a wedding ring???

It's true though.  Alissa is a sweet, thoughtful girl who spends time with God each day and lives her life to please Him!  Matt commented that in all of her 18 years he has never heard her complain and he doesn't remember a single incident of her giving either of us a hard time or rebelling in any way.  She is an amazing girl and we are both proud to have her as our daughter!

Happy Birthday, Alissa!

wedding planning

Just the girls..... a trip to Starbucks, then a walk to the library.  Leah read some books while Alissa, Brianna, and I got some serious wedding planning done!

Christmas

This year we enjoyed a stomach bug-free Christmas!
Christmas Eve was on a Sunday so after our regular church service, we headed to the Center for our HFK Family Church service.  From there we went right back to FBC for the Christmas Eve service.  It was a very special time.  All of the kids (and spouses) were there.  The gym was beautifully decorated for Christmas, the Christmas story was read, and many of my favorite carols and songs were sung.  It was a perfect lead in to our own family Christmas.

Everyone opened their pjs when we got home.

We also enjoyed Mrs. Prindables candy apples- a surprise from Nana!  We watched It's a Wonderful Life and then went to bed.

Christmas morning Alissa made us an amazing breakfast in bed!

We all enjoyed the day as it snowed out.  Our gifts were very simple this year, but we did manage a family gift of board/card games.  We had tons of fun playing together!

Matt made sure throughout the entire day- from start to finish- that we all remembered the reason we celebrate.  It's because of Jesus we are where we are today and count ourselves crazily  blessed!

random thoughts

So I've been doing a lot of thinking.  And resting.  And praying.  And reflecting. I can't believe I am a grandmother- with two mo...
