Advent- Week 1

We celebrated the first week of Advent on Sunday.  Matt read from Isaiah 9 including this verse:

For to us a child is born,
    to us a son is given;
and the government shall be upon his shoulder,
    and his name shall be called
Wonderful Counselor, Mighty God,
    Everlasting Father, Prince of Peace.

(I still don't have a camera, so am making do with phone pics for now)

 Since this was in the middle of us battling the stomach flu, none of us were at our best and poor Leah didn't last long enough to do the craft- the part she had been looking forward to for days! (excuse the paci....it's a long story!)

 Then, after we were done, with eyes glowing (love the effects of the camera-ha!), we all crashed on couches and watched a Christmas movie.

 What a beautiful season.  This year, we have avoided almost all commercialism and there has been such sweet simplicity.  This picture sums it all up- the reason for Christmas
